Sweet Vibes by Migdul Sweet Vibes by Migdul
Oh my god, this illustration stole my soul.

It started off as a simple illustration about music, then I just kept on adding and changing bits, building up the colour.

It took way, way, way longer than I expected (partially because I work full-time now, so only illustrate at the wkends). It took freekin ages to balance the colours on the background flowers without destracting from the foreground objects.

I was intially using my ancient version of photoshop 7 but managed to upgrade to CS2 to finish it off. Total number of hours it took is unkown, but I've been working on and off on this baby for months now.

It's made up of about 250 layers (a nightmare to manage), comprising of hand drawn images scanned in, coupled with a background painted in acrylics and goache.

I actually love this and would pay copious amounts of money to have it on my wall. well worth the millions of hours of work you spent on it for sure. :D

also, the thought of 250 layers actually hurts my head. ¬¬ big points to you for being able to manage them.

I tried to set it up as a print and it got rejected. I may give it another go when I get some time. If not I can always send you a copy in the post, what with you being a UK citizen and all.

I am proud, but it took far far too long. I'm woefully unefficient, and I need to devise some better methods of producing work quickly and efficiently. Cheers for the fave and the feedback tho, my man!

Well since my method of producing work quickly is to not do a good job I'd say your method is better. :)

freekin photoshop 7 man - no group layers option. Thats the main reason it took so long, all the laters were seriously disorganised. Already done the lineart for my next one, so I'm gonna try and be more efficient with it.
